He asked her, “How do I know if I’m in love with you or not?” and without pausing to think, she replied, “If you have to ask me then you’re not.” No, these aren’t lines about to take you on a roller-coaster ride of some romance paperback. These are lines that I asked myself as I sat down to write a review for Samsung Galaxy Tab 750. I know I am in love with it and don’t need any reasons, clauses, and justifications.
All that I have read about this tablet, all that I’ve seen in videos and promos, all that I have imagined about it – and I presume almost everyone who is writing a review has had a similar if not a better and wider exposure – is enough to make us all fall heads-over-heels in love with it! And LOVE is another form of JOY… and joy is an emotive state. Joy is one of the seven emotions that the human intellect experiences. The moment you fall in love you have touched the peak of success. Even Guru Dutt, the actor, remarked: “Life mein, yaar, kya hai? Do hi toh cheezen hai – kamyaabi aur failure. There is nothing in between.” (“What is there in life, friend? There are only two things – success and failure. There is nothing in between.”). Let me give this a broader perspective:
Kamyabi (Success): “Yes I have known/ read/ seen/ experienced the Samsung Galaxy Tab 750.”
Failure: “What’s this? Haven’t heard about it.”
Definitions are so simple. Failure is also similar to what Andre Breton talks about: “All my life, my heart has yearned for a thing I cannot name.” It isn’t good enough to yearn for unnamed, unknown things any longer. Therefore, go on and read this review to KNOW the Samsung Galaxy Tab 750 better and then you too can unhesitatingly announce to the world that you are finally in love!
Love is not just an emotion. It is a complex mix of seven powerful emotive states: Joy – Desire – Faith – Sex – Enthusiasm – Romance – Hope. The more I think of the Samsung Tab, I am prone to believe that this gadget powerfully weaves in all the 7 of these emotions and then combines them magically to produce white light or the bliss of love!
A super light and super slim marvel of computing pulsating in your hands and it’s 256.7 X 175.3 X 8.6 mm size weighing just 565 grams is nothing but sheer joy!
Holding this Tab in your hands is almost like repeating this line by James M. Barrie: “I’m youth, I’m joy, I’m a little bird that has broken out of the egg.” A high definition 10.1 inch TFT capacitive screen and a resolution of 1280 X 800 light up the scintilla of adoration the moment you switch it On with a cursory feather-like touch of your fingers! Joy. Yes, this is joy!
When your desires are strong enough, you will appear to possess superhuman powers to achieve… and desire thus has everything to do with your ability to harness the power of networking, your ability to remember the right compliment at the right time. This is exactly what the Samsung Tab replicates.
Why else would the researchers at Samsung ensure that this Tab has a 16 to 64 GB of internal memory, 1 GB RAM and comes with the able support of USB 2.0? users also get excellent network connectivity which includes 2G – GSM network, 3G – HSPA+ network and a blazing WiFi 802.11 connectivity support, as well as EDGE / GPRS. Even Bluetooth v3.0 comes huffing and puffing to help you out in case it is needed!
Even Napoleon Hill writes: “Desire is the starting point of all achievement, not a hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire which transcends everything.”
Faith isn’t faith until it’s all you’re holding on to… which is what happens when you purchase a new computing marvel and you expect it to pass all your tests. One of the tests a tablet is put to is its audio and video playback. The visual experience and the sound quality need to be just perfect.
What happens when a gadget that has been bought by hard-earned money fails a test? Elie Wiesel has the answer: “The opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference. The opposite of art is not ugliness, it’s indifference. The opposite of faith is not heresy, it’s indifference. And the opposite of life is not death, it’s indifference.” The new Samsung Galaxy Tablet 750 has dual speakers with HD video playback. It also has the capability to play MP3, AAC, WMA, AAC+ audio formats and DivX, VidX, WMV9, WMV7, WMV8, MPEG4 video codecs. Indifference from the consumer is thus far away. This Tablet goes much beyond even the Elie Wiesel benchmark of faith!
Sensual. Sensory titillations. Gonadal giggles. These are what the consumer today looks for when talking of the features of a Tablet. Though a 3 MP camera with LED flash and auto focus as well as a secondary camera of 2 MP may appear mundane and poised to displease, it is not so. The output is what matters and the output reaches out like an expert to jog along with the output that even some of the better stand-alone cameras can boast of. Add to this the facility of instant SNS sharing and you have a winner in your hands.
The results are sexy, silky, and serenade you with a resolution that is as much a visual pleasure as is its technical suavity!
A Dual Core 1 Ghz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor running on Android v3.1 Honeycomb is what efficiently supports multi-tasking and split view besides all the small and large Apps that you will certainly be looking for. Other impressive features include the Samsung Touchwiz UX, Live Panel and Mini Apps and the fact that the machine runs on 7000 mAH battery! If all this isn’t the recipe to make you go breathless with a surging enthusiasm, then what will?
There is a real magic in enthusiasm. It spells the difference between mediocrity and accomplishment. It is the enthusiasm with which a machine is conceived and created that in turn generates a similar spirit in a user… and the configuration details are firmly pointing to this fact.
Benjamin Disraeli pointed out that “Romance has been elegantly defined as the offspring of fiction and love.” Yes, this Samsung machine displays all the symptoms of a real fiction, so to say… especially if you consider that struggle has been deliberately staved off, diminished, or simply converted into a vantage point. The browser comes with adobe flash player support to prove what I am trying to say. The compass, A-GPS support and Google Maps, social hub, Gyroscope, Accelerometer sensor, ambient light sensor and all the Google apps like Google Talk, Gmail, Google Calendar, and Youtube are what make this machine a romantic adventure more than a struggle for existence that most other tablets in the market are!
It is D.H. Lawrence who gives us a beautiful description of what one feels when one is using the Samsung Galaxy Tab 750: “And what’s romance? Usually, a nice little tale where you have everything as you like it, where rain never wets your jacket and gnats never bite your nose, and it’s always daisy-time.”
To re-energise, to pitch well, to accelerate and then keep the momentum up are all words and phrases that sum up ‘hope’… what good is a computing machine that makes creating a PPT or an Excel document, listening to music, or reading a pdf difficult and full of a nervous strain?
This machine allows you to easily create and edit PPT, Word or Excel documents using Polaris Office.
This machine has an ethereal Music Hub by which you can search, download and listen to over 11 million songs.
This machine has a Reader’s Hub where you can read over 2000 newspapers, 3000 magazines and more than 2 million ebooks!
And if you are the sort who wants to go on hoping for more, well, there are some excellent and very useful accessories for it like a keyboard, notebook stand, leather case that you can go for, if you wish to.
Whether it is imagined or actual, the fear of not being able to optimally use a machine bought is very real to a consumer and controls every aspect of their lives. Hope can bring the realization that this fear can remain under control with a Samsung Tablet in your hands!
Galaxy Tab 10.1, err Galaxy Tab 750, the tablet from Samsung was launched with much fanfare in Delhi on August 10, 2011. An article in the Times of India pointed out pithily that “iPad’s success has not gone unnoticed. Rest of the world is slowly jumping on the bandwagon, hoping to take a chunk out of Apple’s pie. None had any noticeable success so far.” This was true… until the Samsung machine emerged on the horizon! It hasn’t just emerged …it has jumped high enough to make the leader shiver with fear …it has jumped high enough to be able to see that it has left others struggling …it has jumped high enough and then turned and twisted in mid-air to see the entire universe that it will soon be ruling. And the reasons aren’t far-fetched or difficult to find… this Samsung machine has tangible and objective advantages over the iPad, for instance, a user-friendly portability, facility of multi-tasking, dual camera, ability to metamorphose as a phone, a v3 bluetooth, less weight, and an ‘official’ availability are areas where it scores high!
All that any good and viable research needs is space enough to jump… and Samsung has made sure that it gets this space and that it jumps higher than anyone possibly can! In a classic struggle of Power vs. Force, Samsung has clearly indicated that it has both the power of technology and the force of aesthetics to fuel it’s upward trajectory.
