Two kettles in a Bedouin tent in Wadi Rum in Jordan

Two kettles in a Bedouin tent in Wadi Rum in Jordan

Two kettles?
Just two kettles?
Is that all that you see?

You don’t see two generations looking in different directions?
Don’t you see rural life and an urban perspective?
Or the tussle between machine-made and man-made?

Don’t you see a story trying to come out?
Or a poem simmering inside?
Or maybe just the excitement of having hot and sweet tea?

Isn’t travel woven here?
Aren’t questions steaming out?
Isn’t there space for the unexplained?

You can’t visualise a Bedouin tent here?
Or nomads of Jordan impressing tourists?
Or the desert called Wadi Rum?

So much and all you see is two kettles?
Just two kettles?

What do I see?
I see a lot of questions wanting answers
I see a lot of answers connecting to questions
I see what is and what isn’t
I see what was

But most of what I see
Are called smiles.

Note: This picture was clicked during my Jordan trip… an opportunity that came my way because I was one of the 12 winners in the #GrabYourDream Season-2  sponsored by Cox and Kings and gAdventures. I was a part of a group of travel enthusiasts and followed the rather interesting but sometimes exhausting itinerary of gAdventures and loved every moment of this trip. The kettles in this picture were inside a Bedouin tent where we had stopped during our exploration of the mysteries of Wadi Rum…
