Performance is the doorway to results. If you wish to MBA your dreams, the day to give your best performance has been decided. The door which opens to the world of fame, recognition and success is awaits your knock. Yes, we are talking about CAT 2006 which is a dream of all those who’ll be appearing for it this year.

To get admission in the top MBA institutes across the country, CAT is considered to be the most renowned and toughest examination amongst all.

More than 1,70,000 candidates will fight it out for the 1400 seats in the IIMs. Natural abilities are like natural plants; they need pruning by study. Every aspirant studies with the focus set right knowing fully that only a few will step into that cherished new world.

After studying the patterns of CAT in the last few years we at PT have learnt that CAT softly treads on new methods of testing every 2 or 3 years. Because of this unpredictability the pressure is always on students. Thus it becomes very important for students to have the right mentors.

In a nutshell, the basic features that aspirants must consider can be:

• Identify your strengths and weaknesses and start working on them.
• Develop new skills and concentrate on revision.
• Select the right institute and entrance exam for you to take admission.
• Process counseling from your teachers regularly.
• Develop a skill to perform in pressure.
• Develop skills to do mental calculations fast.
• For language improvements, read newspapers and magazines regularly.
• Appear in mock-tests and focus on the analysis.
• Believe in yourself and remember: You Can Do It.

We are always ready to help the students. In these remaining days in this series we will keep on giving you the tips based on our experience of last few years through this column every day, to enable you to give your best for CAT.
