Revolution. This is more than a mere buzz-word today. This word has evolved into an attitude, a way of life, a symbol of independence, and something that we all want to be associated with…
Revolutions are there in technology as well. One of the newest revolutions that is on its way to India is the Samsung NOTE. The Note, as the device is called, runs Google Inc.’s Android operating system, has a five-inch screen and proudly carries with it a slide-out stylus. This new feature, also euphemistically called the S-pen, is a feature that reminds us all of the ubiquitous personal digital assistants or PDAs that have all but disappeared since the finger became the primary input method for touch-sensitive screens. Someone aptly remarked: ‘What has the world come to? We finger day in and day out!’
The Note from Samsung seems a little larger than a conventional mobile phone, a little smaller than the conventionally acceptable size for a Tablet, and smartly adds a pen into the mix making it seem even more attractive! It does feel like a new device category… but one that has desire built all over it!!
Andrew Coughlin, a Samsung executive for Europe, said the Note would appeal to consumers who want a device that combines a phone’s function with a screen size closer to that of a tablet. He said the Note’s security features make it a good fit for business customers.
