Some days are just incredible… the 16th of November 2012 was one such day. This was a day when Samsung decided to create a Guinness World Record by launching its ‘Incredible Art’ campaign. This was also the day when I saw one of my old talented ‘coolest job’ friend Vineeth Vincent up there on the stage performing with his team… yes, we met later after he had already regaled the spectators at the Select City Mall in Saket with his special brand of music without employing any instrument. My real moment came when Genelia entered…
Yes, I mean the gorgeous Genelia Deshmukh was there… with her usual retinue of bouncers and organisers. She came, went up on the stage to launch the ‘Samsung Galaxy Note II Incredible Art Piece’ initiative in India. She kicked off the campaign with the internationally known artist duo Thukral and Tagra… and the three of them used the S-pen to create unique art forms on the Samsung Galaxy Note II. For those who do not know, this is a first of its kind initiative by Samsung to create a digital art piece that will break the Guinness World Record title for the most artists contributing to a single art piece. The current world record is held by Great Britain with 201,958 contributions. But all this ia simply statistics… you can be part of this initiative and, in a way, become a Guinness World Record holder by contributing to this ‘incredible art’ campaign. For details, just click on the image below…
If you too wish to be a part of the magnificent creative endeavour that will be a Guinness World Record, click here and submit your own ‘incredible art piece’… Yes, Samsung Galaxy Note II helps you understand the real meaning of ‘incredible’!
‘Can I submit multiple entries?’ asked my excited wife, who was listening carefully to what the anchor on the improvised stage was saying.
I said, ‘Yes, you can but only ONE entry per person per unique email id will be considered. This will mean that a huge number of people will actually get attached to this world record. Isn’t this fascinating?’
‘Yes,’ said Specky and then she suddenly remarked, ‘Genelia is coming down now. Move forward to click her.’
I did and the bouncer right in front of me obligingly shifted aside… maybe he was impressed by my rather authoritative way of handling my Nikon D5100! Then she gracefully walked down and paused right where I was standing.
I readied my camera and clicked… she smiled, nodded, and turned to give me access to her profile as well. Then she leaned forward and asked, ‘Got what you wanted?’
I was speechless by then… and could just nod my head vigorously. And then she walked away into the crowd, followed by her bouncers. ‘Wow!’ I mumbled, ‘Genelia not only posed for me but also spoke to me.’ No, I do not have any video record of this ephemeral conversation, but the incredible moment is embedded strongly on my psyche now. Yes, I am constantly discovering new meanings of the word ‘incredible’… and didn’t I say that the day was truly incredible? Wouldn’t you agree?
Here are a few of the pictures from the Samsung ‘incredible’ event:
