I never read any of my books completely
Actually cannot, as I read many
At the same time or just open
One from a page that catches my fancy!
Look, don’t think I’m a flirtatious reader
Whose attention hovers over many covers
Truth is that love to uncover
The truth in the books that I read.
Some books, just some of them
Love me enough to take away a part
Of my attention with them.
Relationships are never complete
And it is like the books we read
But the book is not like me
And even I am not like the book at all.
We’re just similar.
Similar? Well, yes, it is words are the DNA
That make up books and us
Words connect us
And words flow between us.

On the other hand, I cannot let a book go if I have started it – even if I am not enjoying it so much… The only ones I have not completed are the ones with a predictable ending… But had never thought of the simile that you have expressed. Interesting indeed!

Thanks a lot, Kriti… there aren’t many poetry-loving souls left in this world now. So heartening to come closer to people who still read poetry!

Thanks buddy… yes, I do try to remain as straight-forward, clear, and simple in my expressions. Thanks for your kind words.

Ah! There are piles of books that are lying unread in my home… no, not because they are not readable or uninteresting, but because I am not bale to get the time to even open them and read.
