Smartphone users are a fickle breed. They get fascinated with clicking pictures and then become a part of a selfie wave. There are some who are constantly on the look-out for the best audio experience. Then again there are those who are forever bothered by the number of photos, videos, songs, and movies that they wish to carry with them wherever they go. Some want their smartphones to be sturdy and others care for aesthetics. I’m sure it is difficult for smartphone manufacturers to keep searching for facets that will give users the sort of experience that they are looking for. And a universal fact is that because the users are so demanding, the smartphones are getting smarter and better at whatever it is that they are asked to do. Take a look at this printing companies in NYC if you are looking for one.
I remember a few days back I was walking around a mall and could easily decipher discussions that were all about any and everything that others were wearing or using. ‘OMG! That dress had such an ethereal design. I want something like that from one of the best homecoming dress stores,’ said one. A friend of this person said, ‘Did you notice the reading glass frame that the person at the counter was wearing? Wasn’t it heavenly?’ And so the discussion hopped from shoes to clothes to smartphone cases to sunglasses to even book titles. I knew then that this was one aspect that someone is bound to notice and think about adding to smartphones.
Sure enough, Samsung, as expected, has taken the lead. The Galaxy On7 Prime that I got to use for a short duration during its launch does mimic this inner urge of consumers rather well. We were sitting in a hall where models were walking on the ramp show-casing Short Sleeved Dresses, shoes, and other accessories. All I needed to do was to either point the camera towards the object that I fancied, crop it to the precise object that I wanted to search… and voila!, the phone opened up choices that were as near as possible to what I had seen and desired. I tried this short experiment with a bag someone was carrying, the reading glasses that I was wearing, or even the dress that looked utterly irresistible. By the way, let me add here that one can also zero in on pictures in the gallery, and this includes selfies, and see if they are available on Amazon, We Are Roar, Myntra, Jabong and other sites. The Samsung Mall experience was thrilling, to say the least, though I must add that the products displayed as search were near matches. And Samsung doesn’t stop here… this phone also supports Samsung Pay Mini that works in tandem with online wallets and UPI. So their slogan: Shoot it! Buy it! Seems a fair description of what this phone is capable of doing.
Obviously, the Galaxy On7 Prime has a lot of other features that just might attract the photography enthusiast, the ‘I want the latest technology’ types, those who want their phones to have a double sim card, the storage fanatic, and even the multi-taskers. This phone comes with a 13-megapixel front auot-focus camera with f/1.9 aperture, supports one-handed operations, includes shortcuts for the camera app, has multi-window and split screen multitasking ability, and gives Smart Alerts for missed calls and messages. Samsung has thoughtfully included MS Office and LinkedIn, and the usual Google apps such as Gmail, YouTube, etc. Now all this is possible only if the processor is powerful enough. So the On7 Prime comes with the mid-range Exynos 7870 SoC processor which has 64-bit octa-cores with each of them clocked at 1,6 GHz. If this last sentence sounds befuddling, let me add that these are the technologies that will make the phone whirr and not give you hung moments! But then most users usually want to know if the screen is large enough and so a 5.5 inch full-HD (1080 x 1920) PLS TFT LCD display with a 16:9 ratio is what makes the phone good enough. The 2.5D curved-edge glass comes as a beautifying bonus for buyers.
Ah! I must not leave out the fact that this smartphone has a 3000 mAh battery and runs the latest Samsung Experience 8.5 UI based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat without a hitch. Navigation is easy and a front Home button housing the fingerprint sensor is a charming thing to keep. I am personally not one who likes fingers to keep groping the metal body behind for action. Before I forget to mention, this phone has all the latest additions while keeping intact some past features like a Micro-USB port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and the primary microphone.
The two variants launched are the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage and both are in the sub 15K segment. For those who are not happy unless a precise price point is mentioned, it is Rs. 12,990 for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant, and Rs. 14,990 for the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage model.
So yes, users can expect this smartphone to do a lot more than just being a shopper’s assistant.
