Smartphone marketers believe that the Indian youth is fascinated with clicking selfies, loves to watch videos, roams around with noise cancellation headsets, and is the only segment that will prefer innovations like the party mode that helps connect upto six devices with the same parentage to play and listen to the same song. The biggest myth circulating today is that new-age technological innovations are only for the youth. Believe me, there are adults and even octogenarians loving all these activities and technology has permeated into the soul of everything and everyone. And you can see it in this virtual assistant project management system.
If you think only the younger generation loves the magic of AI shopping where you sight, click, identify, reach-out, and buy even as you sit at home or move around in your car, you’re terribly off the mark. The older ones are doing this just as efficiently. Everyone across the age tiers is fascinated with calorie detection where a mere click with the smartphone camera inundates a user with not just going deeper into the recipe but gives out its calorie count as well. I am sixty plus and I love a feature called the wi-fi bridge that enables me to share my wi-fi with even 4 devices… and I have more than this number that sometimes need in full function. Even my father who is in his eighties told me once, ‘I need two SIMs, son. One to be on a call and the other to keep my internet browsing going on seamlessly and without jitters.’
‘You have now,’ I said, ‘Dual VoLTE does just this.’
‘Dual VoLTE, you said? I love technology.’
My mother who is also in her eighties, loves AI smart face unlock and is constantly worried about her young grand-kids trespassing on her whatsapp database… and she also loves smart fingerprint sensors that she now uses to click pictures. ‘Well, you can use this last one for watching videos, to answer calls, to stop alarm, show notifications, and even browse photos,’ I told her and she is a happier person.
This isn’t all. The magic of technology has travelled further and at least one smartphone now has a smart triple Bluetooth connection that is capable of connecting to 3 devices at the same time. I mean, there are times when you have your smartwatch connected to Bluetooth and want your new Bluetooth headset too ready to regale you, right? This is no longer a fantasy. We all need a single-click option for PayTM too. Adults who are more adventurous will also need the ride mode to stay away from calls that distract while they are zooming away on mind-blowing countryside on their bike.
One or the other of all the features that I have mentioned have been there in one or the other smartphone… but all in one device was wishful. But I have just been informed that the Honor 10 Lite has all of them together… and more.
More?
Well, for instance, ebook enthusiasts quite literally hate the harmful blue light in devices other than Kindle… but the Honor 10 Lite comes with TUV certified eye care mode that prevents this damage.
By the way, I know of a lot of adults who are selfie and groufie (or groupfie) fans as well. And whoever assumes that adults do not want a shimmering colour gradient back cover for their smartphone is not living in present times. The Honor 10 Lite is genuinely stylish and I know this because I just spent a few critical moments with this phone and loved the sapphire blue, sky blue, and midnight black shimmering hues that I saw. Lest I forget, this smartphone is indeed a 24HR_in_style sort of device.
‘Is the camera just as innovative and effective?’ asked a friend with hesitation.
Ah yes! The camera is vital today. The Honor 10 Lite comes with a 24MP AI selfie camera that can recognize eight different scenes and knows how to adjust light in different circumstances. So if you are on a beach or have the bright sky behind you or have plants or even a single flower that you are holding, or you happen to be on a stage with strobe lights on, or you’re inside a room or in the darkor if it is snowing, you can still get clear and sharp pictures. The dual rear camera with 13MP+2MP comes with a big f8 aperture and AIS mode and has enough software algorithms working in tandem to give you great results.
For those interested in other specifications, the Honor 10 Lite comes with a 15.77cm (6.21”) FHD+ screen with dewdrop display that has a 91% screen-to-body ratio for a good viewing experience. The Huawei Kirin 710 chipset is a fast performer with no multi-tasking lags. Gamers will experience no frame drops as this phone has a GPU Turbo 2.0 engine that keeps FPS at maximum. The EMUI 9.0 based on Android 9 is charmingly efficient and the collection of themes at a user’s disposal is impressive. By the way, users can also activate a number of geture controls and this, I must add, is quite handy. It comes to me as no surprise when Suhail Tariq of Huawei Consumer Business Group talked about Honor’s strong dedication to selfie photography and exceptional design.
Coming back to where I began, technology isn’t meant for any one segment. Technology has a knack to dive into human sensibilities and without being bothered about age, income, or geo-political positioning. However, it is equally true that ‘the test of the machine is the satisfaction it gives you. There isn’t any other test. If the machine produces tranquility it’s right. If it disturbs you it is wrong until either the machine or your mind is changed.’ I do agree with Robert M. Pirsig, the author of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.
