Some days are created to be full of interesting discoveries. Like today. One political party discovered that even exit polls could be sane as well as deadly. Another party found out finally that repeating a magical performance isn’t as difficult as it sounds. And I wondered why I hadn’t activated the Blaupunkt BH01 wireless on-ear headphone for over a week since it was delivered.
You see, I was straining to hear what the anchor was saying because I sat more than fifteen feet away from the television and didn’t want the volume to be excessively high. This was when Specky, my wife said, ‘Right time to unbox that new wireless headphone from Blaupunkt. Try it.’ I did. And then in less than ten seconds, found Specky aiming her smartphone camera in my direction. By the way, the Bluetooth V5.0 made the connection fast and, as I learnt later, is also responsible for efficient power usage.
‘What?’ I asked without uttering any word.
I didn’t hear what she said but it looked like it was: ‘Love your smile. Want to capture it forever.’
This is the sort of magic spell that even a headphone is capable of weaving. Let me add here that the headphone kept me glued throughout the day as the results of elections 2019 were being announced, denounced, interpreted, analysed, and commented upon. This means I kept it on for around ten hours and the BH01 didn’t protest one bit. I did mention that bit about efficient power usage just a few lines above, right? ‘A single charge goes a long way,’ I told Specky, and then added, ‘though the battery, as compared to what smartphones boast of, is only 300 mAh. A typical case of something having a small size but giant-sized ability.’
Managing this charming device is a breeze because it has control buttons for Play/Pause/Track change/Call pick and Call Drop. Pairing happened without my heart missing a beat and this was when I found that two mobile phones could be connected simultaneously. When I told Specky about this she laughed and said, ‘That’s almost like Modi becoming the PM twice in a row.’ I wanted to tell her that the analogy wasn’t as accurate as she thought it was unless she could make Modi be the PM for two nations at the same time… but I let it go. This was simply because the on-ear headphones were not making my ears go red nor surly in any way.
The sound output must have been great because even Arnab Goswami sounded sweeter than he is said to be. I really must mention here that this gadget has the facilty to switch between Blaupunkt music mode and Turbo boost mode with the latter to keep the Indian consumer smiling. No wires meant I could stand up and even walk around when the debates on the telly got hotter. Obviously, without the fear of getting entangled in some mesh of tangled wires. This reminds me tell you that this pair of headphones has a 3.5mm jack and the box comes with the right audio cable as well. This wireless wonder is foldable and has a built-in mic as well. For those who may be interested, the BH01 is a recent launch and comes in a price band that will definitely not terrorize anyone.
I am rather glad that I unboxed and got to understand the friendly power of Blaupunkt BH01 today… this is one day that is anyway going to be remembered in the history of India for times to come.
