I am the sea with waves rising high
There are times I’ve touch the sky.
I am the pond, stream and river
That see parched throats quiver.

I am the State and I lead
Laws in wetlands of need
Inside a threat or a treaty
And unprompted graffiti…

In words that preach anything
In pitches for brands to sing
I live in the ink of paragraphs
Crisscrossing veins of graphs.

I am that slogan on the streets
A chant with pulsating beats
I am the spirit that humans ride
I’m everywhere, on every side.

Inside an age-soaked wrinkle
Helping a joyous crinkle
I am never too far
From signs of all we are.

I am the baton and the beaten
Follower and the heathen
I recoil and I pounce
I rejoice and renounce.

You and I live in this net
No larger than a droplet
Dash it, crash it if you must
Invincible is my trust.
