Do not fear the night anymore
Look at those who can see and feel it
And with technology, pierce it well
They are the ones who will score
They will stitch distant thoughts, make them fit
Nights do have a lot to tell!
Nights were once the sole domain of serious students who were up late and pouring over books… and these people still exist. Nights were once made for those who cooed and wooed until the wee hours… and they still do the same. Nights, most of us thought, had nothing much to talk about but were meant only to prowl and do the unthinkable.
Not that these things have changed much… except that nights are now far more attractive and full of moments that deserve to be captured in thoughts. And on the camera.
It is time to do the undoable and explore the beauty that nights are genetically coded with. Even Vincent Van Gogh wrote that he often thought that ‘the night is more alive and more richly colored than the day.’ It is true.
‘Isn’t it true that nights have a lot to share?’ I asked Specky, my wife.
‘Share?’ she asked, ‘you mean sharing selfies clicked at night? It is too dark and my smartphone isn’t ready to take strolls in the night.’
Well, smartphone cameras have evolved and have got better shooting in low light and at night… and talking about smartphones with this feature, one that comes to my mind is the Tecno smartphone with its unique image processing technology PIXELEX engine that helps users capture the brightest pictures even in the night by redefining the boundaries of image technology and user experience. There are expensive smartphones that do the job equally well and sometimes better but then the Tecno range of smartphones are between 7990/- and 14,990/- and at this price range, there is none that can boast of a Quad LED Flash support to the rear camera to give a professional touch to phot instincts. Even the selfie camera comes ready with a screen flash & front LED flash for brighter night selfies. Taking this small talk on flashes a bit further, I was surprised to be informed that users can even adjust LED brightness when they are on video calls… thus making clarity in low light a major USP of the Tecno Mobile range.
However, smartphones aren’t always for clicking pictures. They need to have a good battery backup, fast charging, a reasonably good display, should be run on the newest operating system, and one of the vital features that consumers look for is the kind of after-sales service that a company or the seller has in store for them. This new mobile fortunately comes in different price bands with a logical inclusion of features. The new TECNO smartphone range includes five models – i3, i3 Pro, i5, i5 Pro and i7 in a price range of INR 7,990 to 14,990 (MOP). While i5, i5 Pro, i3 and i3 pro will all be available across 3 states of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Punjab from 22nd April, 2017; i7 will be hitting the market early May’17. These new products come in the exciting colors of Champagne Gold, Sky Black and Space Grey.
The Tecno Mobile team did inform me that they have a unique ‘151’ offer valid for their range of phones. This simply means that there is a promise of 100 days’ replacement, 50% buyback and 1-year one-time screen replacement. This does give a lot of budget buyers that special ring of security which is rather appreciable.
‘These features do give the Tecno mobiles an edge,’ said Specky.
‘Yes,’ I replied, ‘They have customized the Android OS and call it HiOS and thus if a user wants a smart screen-split to multi-task, he doesn’t necessarily have to root the device.’
Well, the truth is that the Indian mobile market is anyway chock-full of new devices and each of them is attempting to get their share of sales. The Tecno range has the ability to reach out to the budget buyers in bigger cities as well smaller towns and villages. These phones may not have features like being dust and water resistant and may not give shatter-proof validation but at the price point mentioned they do deserve attention.

I really like the way you review phones. Techno looks like a great buy especially with the advancements you have mentioned in their camera especially for night photography. Their deal of 151 shows a lot of confidence in their product which is always a good thing. You are right that any market is so full of phones now that finding the diamonds in the rough is essential. Thanks

Thank you. Yes, I do try to be different… or at least try not to be as conventional as a lot of other bloggers writing on technology seem to be. Do visit again. 🙂
