Crows don’t dance in the rain
They neither fly away nor caw
Getting wet is such a strain
And against all their crow law.
But they share space
As they patiently wait
Before another race
To a prey or a bait.

I know we aren’t like a crow.
Even one bit.

The space under our roof
We announce, is only for us
You may purr or say woof
Or stir up a fuss
Our space is not for you
We nudge, push, and fight
For our acres or inches few
Even when it rains in the night.

We will never be like a crow.
Not one bit.
