Take care of your world, not mine
.
That wail zipping through neurons
Activating synapses that give
Thoughts their words and give
Words their sounds.
You know, sounds of fury, anger, despair,
That they imagine fills the world
And prepares to get things done
Or at least make change possible.
It doesn’t.
It doesn’t because that wail
And whatever it does will fail
To reach out beyond their world.
And their world isn’t my world.
Imagination is the cruelest thing
They have. We have. I have.
