Yes, it is possible to fall in love with a gadget!

He asked her, “How do I know if I’m in love with you or not?” and without pausing to think, she replied, “If you have to ask me then you’re not.” No, these aren’t lines about to take you on a roller-coaster ride of some romance paperback. These are lines that I asked myself as I sat down to write a review for Samsung Galaxy Tab 750. I know I am in love with it and don’t need any reasons, clauses, and justifications.

All that I have read about this tablet, all that I’ve seen in videos and promos, all that I have imagined about it – and I presume almost everyone who is writing a review has had a similar if not a better and wider exposure – is enough to make us all fall heads-over-heels in love with it! And LOVE is another form of JOY… and joy is an emotive state. Joy is one of the seven emotions that the human intellect experiences. The moment you fall in love you have touched the peak of success. Even Guru Dutt, the actor, remarked: “Life mein, yaar, kya hai? Do hi toh cheezen hai – kamyaabi aur failure. There is nothing in between.” (“What is there in life, friend? There are only two things – success and failure. There is nothing in between.”). Let me give this a broader perspective:

Kamyabi (Success): “Yes I have known/ read/ seen/ experienced the Samsung Galaxy Tab 750.”
Failure: “What’s this? Haven’t heard about it.”

Definitions are so simple. Failure is also similar to what Andre Breton talks about: “All my life, my heart has yearned for a thing I cannot name.” It isn’t good enough to yearn for unnamed, unknown things any longer. Benjamin Disraeli pointed out that “Romance has been elegantly defined as the offspring of fiction and love.” Yes, this Samsung machine displays all the symptoms of a real fiction, so to say… especially if you consider that struggle has been deliberately staved off, diminished, or simply converted into a vantage point. The browser comes with adobe flash player support to prove what I am trying to say. The compass, A-GPS support and Google Maps, social hub, Gyroscope, Accelerometer sensor, ambient light sensor and all the Google apps like Google Talk, Gmail, Google Calendar, and Youtube are what make this machine a romantic adventure more than a struggle for existence that most other tablets in the market are!

It is D.H. Lawrence who gives us a beautiful description of what one feels when one is using the Samsung Galaxy Tab 750: “And what’s romance? LAST WORD

Galaxy Tab 10.1, err Galaxy Tab 750, the tablet from Samsung was launched with much fanfare in Delhi on August 10, 2011. An article in the Times of India pointed out pithily that “iPad’s success has not gone unnoticed. Rest of the world is slowly jumping on the bandwagon, hoping to take a chunk out of Apple’s pie. None had any noticeable success so far.” This was true… until the Samsung machine emerged on the horizon! It hasn’t just emerged …it has jumped high enough to make the leader shiver with fear …it has jumped high enough to be able to see that it has left others struggling …it has jumped high enough and then turned and twisted in mid-air to see the entire universe that it will soon be ruling. And the reasons aren’t far-fetched or difficult to find… this Samsung machine has tangible and objective advantages over the iPad, for instance, a user-friendly portability, facility of multi-tasking, dual camera, ability to metamorphose as a phone, a v3 bluetooth, less weight, and an ‘official’ availability are areas where it scores high!

All that any good and viable research needs is space enough to jump… and Samsung has made sure that it gets this space and that it jumps higher than anyone possibly can! In a classic struggle of Power vs. Force, Samsung has clearly indicated that it has both the power of technology and the force of aesthetics to fuel it’s upward trajectory.
