Characters live in minds, they say
And tethering us, they then spray
The outside world with their own thoughts
To have us all in unreal knots!
They jump from inside books to be
One with us, then we cease to see
The truth as truth to us would be
We see what they want us to see
The truth of fiction is then live
We flounder if that truth is naïve
Bake well your characters then see
Untruth in shambles, you as free!

Thanks a lot Gayatri… not many people are bothered about even opening a blog page that has poetry in it.

It is true. Very few can look in the mirror and see themselves. All in all it isn’t a bad thing but sometimes it grates – like a politician believing in his exalted state of mind after a flowery speech.
Am so impressed with the way your words flow in this poem, Arvind. Quite beautiful.

Nothing pleases a poet more than his poem being appreciated… thank you, my friend. 🙂
