Life is more than print-scan-copy and the HP Print Art IndiBlogger Meet at Fortune Select Global (Global Arcade, M.G. Road) in Gurgaon on Saturday June 8, 2013 – 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM was much more than a mere hashtag to tweet!
There were bloggers there as were the families of bloggers… there were kids there and the child in every adult was thrilled… there were tweeters, photographers, smiling net-workers present… there was friendly banter and competitive hush… there was uninhibited fun-time and joy for the palate… there were prizes for many and team events… there was some knowledge shared and then some craft-work… and finally there were the great Indi-tees there for all! And once again I found there was no Indi Tee left for me.
‘Any large-sized tees left please,’ I asked.
‘No… we have a few small ones and the rest are XXL.’
I looked down at my protruding tummy and paused to think… Will an XXL be the right size for me in a few months’ time? I looked at Specky and she just said, ‘No. The walks will help.’ The best thing about wives is that they know what you are thinking even if you’re silent and discrete with your thoughts. But as we talked to our friends there, ‘Reader’s Cosmos’ came along carrying a bunch of Tees.
I asked, ‘So many?’
‘Yes,’ she said, ‘the hostellers love wearing them.
‘I just missed out on the tee today. No large-sized ones left,’ I said.
‘That’s no problem,’ she replied, ‘I have a couple of them. Here, take one.’ And she insisted that I accept one… well, thanks to her, I am finally getting to wear one that fits me!
Well, this Indi meet was a relaxed affair where we all got to meet husbands and wives and children and parents of so many bloggers. One could hear sentences like… ‘So finally I get to meet your husband!’ or ‘My kid won’t leave me even for a second… and yet I find the opportunity to sit down and blog.’ Or ‘Yes, she is <name> and is thrilled to be here.’ Or ‘My kid sister says it was her dream to attend a meet and see what a blogger looks like.’ Or ‘Who is Renie…? We hear so much about this dynamic man.’ Or ‘Oh my God! You guys get so many lovely prizes in these meets… I am going to start blogging from today!’
Besides all this, Indi and HP had a surprise contest for us all. We were divided into groups of 15 and were asked to arrange a theme party with the props (printed on HP printers) given to us. Our table got the ‘Little Man’ theme and we had fun transforming it into utter excitement for little Nishad (son of Sakshi and Aseem Nanda). We made him the centre of all our activity and had fun arranging our Jelly Daredevils Party! Shashwat (Ghata’s husband) sportingly became the grown-up version of our mascot Nishad! And I really must mention the utterly involved role of our team leader for this activity who came up with a very plausible and entertaining story for our party.
It was a rather relaxing time we were all having, and I did hear someone say: ‘Such meets are so essential. We get to know people well when we are talking to them with no motive blocking our insight.’
Well, Team Indi… we, the bloggers of Delhi/ NCR thank you for this opportunity to meet not just the bloggers but the ones who are the inspirations, the muse, or the catalysts behind the bloggers.

Well, it is just a small selection of photographs on the post… there were many others…
So far as the choice of camera is concerned… the knowledgeable ones recommend Nikon. I too have a Nikon… but I’m still learning to find my way and have just reached a stage when I am comfortable with the ‘manual’ settings in my Nikon D5100… now this one has a 18-55 lens set which isn’t bad unless there is something I desperately want to go macro about!

Thanks a lot for your guidance. I am too in love with D5100 but now I am thinking of buying D5200 as it will serve me for longer duration of time. What say?

Excellent choice! I think the the 24.1 mega-pixel D5200 also gives you the option of a 18-105 lens kit… go for it!

Ah! That’s because you haven’t seen the other pictures… everyone had fun… everyone loved the day bloggers came with their family or friends. This HP-Indiblogger meet was unique because it included ‘potential’ bloggers as well — and the fun multiplied! 🙂

The line above this comment box says- “What do you think?” My answer to it-
I think this post is just as entertaining as the meet. I was there for the Blogger meet but the angles from which the pictures are clicked and the perspective with which the details are jotted here, it feels like a different experience all together. Rightly said, it all lies in the beholder’s eyes.
I was a part of the team with the topic ‘Mermaid’. Though your team was right next to ours, I hardly got a chance to see what you all were upto in those ’30 minutes’ but when I did, I knew all those ‘mustaches’ were gonna be tough competition. Nice execution.
I can go on and on here but let’s leave it for the next blogger meet, where all this can be discussed in person 🙂 But before I leave, I must say Ms. Passey has a very interesting name for her blog – Idea Masala – liked it!!
See you…

So nice of to say that you found the post as entertaining as the meet itself, Tanya! Thank you.
Yes, we must make it a point to meet whenever Indiblogger decides to call us all again… and I have a feeling, it is going to be sooner than you think!
🙂
And when I told Sangita that her blog name is being liked, she smiled and said, ‘This means I must blog more often.’
