[News – Radhika murder: Passers-by and DU students watched like spectators]

Me and my wife on a walk
By the river Ouse in York
Saw a man with large sad eyes
And a neck that touched the skies –
Ambling with a lot of pride
Was a dachshund by his side.

So similar, so strikingly alike!
We’re all alike what we like.

All we talk or think about
Or tittle-tattle with a pout
Or smile, sneer or simply shout
Does certainly come back and out
In a shape or form or doubt
Or, if we choose, one long snout!

So similar, so strikingly alike!
We’re all alike what we like.

All around are fearful times
Shady climes and gruesome rhymes
Murders here and burglars there
Cheats and liars dare to stare
Now, all you silent populace
Think what’ll happen to your face!

So similar, so strikingly alike!
We’re all alike what we like.

And here I must
Break the rhyme
This stanza cannot
Commit the crime
To mutely follow
What needs to stop.

Go ahead, sing or paint or write
Follow your thought, but stop to fight!
