Most of the time my body lets me believe that life is a thriller and I am like a detective going from here and there in search of all sorts of culprits. Yes, sometimes it is an overdose of harmful sugars and sometimes it is because of a salt invasion. As a result it is the body that is always getting ill and needs the intervention of medicines and some relevant lifestyle changes. I have a feeling that if the body was asked to hold a conversation, it would go somewhat like this…
‘So what do you like to do most?’
‘Some exercise and some rest. I like to be between here and there,’ the body would reply.
‘Well, what sort of food do you like?’
‘The body would say, ‘Ah! A bit of everything will be just fine. I love it if my diet is between here and there… and not an overdose of anything.’
‘Which will you choose between an acidic and an alkaline environment?’
‘This one is simple. I prefer to keep it between here and there… always. Haven’t you ever heard of pH levels?’
Now that the body has mentioned this enigma called the pH factor, let me just add that on a scale of 0-14, anything below 7 is increasingly acidic and above 7 is increasingly alkaline. Some people believe that the body knows how to intelligently keep this pH balance in the right mode… but I believe that if we make poor lifestyle choices and load our body with an acidic environment, it just has to work a lot harder to create homeostasis. It is healthy to understand that when an acidic environment rules, the body experiences symptoms such as indigestion, pain in the chest, nausea, feelings of hunger and belching.
Obviously then, it is essential to take the first logical step and eliminate or reduce the intake of acid-rich foods like refined sugars, deep fried foods, processed foods, meats, corn, eggs, dairy products, beans and fish. Yes, beverages too are acidic. So soda, sweetened teas, processed fruit juices and sports drinks are not doing a big favour to your attempts to increase longevity. Beverages that contain caffeine, such as coffee, tea and energy drinks…even beer, wine, hard liquor, mixed drinks and any other form of alcohol are what shift the pH dangerously and perilously towards the acidic.
The right solution is to increase alkaline intake. I searched and a few things like kale, collards, sprouts, baby spinach, apples, apricots, avocados, cucumbers and fermented tempeh can be added to this list. More importantly, longevity is a result of ozonation of charcoal filtered water or alkaline water that is high in minerals. Ionised water, a lot of people say, is the best possible drinking water. Let me add here that most of us believe (and rather erroneously, I gather) that purified water is great… but it tends to be acidic and can only be recommended as a way of drawing poisons out of the body. Once this is accomplished, the continued drinking of purified water is a bad idea.
A continual intake of acidic stuff obviously leads to a massive deposition of acidic wastes and makes the body unhealthy. Healthy cells love living in an alkaline environment and so little amounts of alkalised water helps. Spring water gives a similar benefit but the nearest one can get to the same effect is through alkalised water. This is where devices like the Hydro-Jal Plus come in as they infuse the benefits of Alkaline and Anti-oxidant reach to water. Purified water has a positive ORP (Oxidation-Reduction Potential) that, as I have already mentioned, can lead to a number of health problems like acidity, fatigue, constipation, headaches, cancer, arthritis, immune dysfunction, hangovers and premature aging. The saviour here is alkalised water.
Alaklising your body is what is necessary… so besides opting for Hydro-Jal Plus to give you alkalised water, you can start your day with a large glass of water with a freshly squeezed lemon. Green salads during the day with snacking of raw unsalted almonds help balance blood sugars. Brisk walking throws out acidic waste as does deep breathing.
The body needs to be between here and there… and it is the right actions that will help it be where it wants to be.
