The world believes that size matters… but really speaking, not always and not every time. At least not when one is talking about the 5 Best Companies to Work for in India among Small Size Organisations in IT-BPM in 2015 – and I’m talking about organizations with up to 500 employees. Small size works for a lot of people who are looking for the right outlet for their skill. Yes, small size does matter but only if these companies are a great place to work for people who believe they have commitment and are charged with a zeal for innovation.
The IT-BPM list or as some may call it, the Information Technology-Business Process Management list has been produced by Great Place To Work® Institute India. NASSCOM supported this initiative through enabling member connect. While we are talking about commitment and an innovative approach, we really need to also mention that though these companies look for employees who have a mind for duties, they themselves go out of the way to care for their rights. Let me give you an example. TO THE NEW Digital is one example that is a premium digital services company that combines the power of technology, analytics, marketing and content for digital transformation. They are a team of over 600 people which includes technology evangelists, social media experts, content specialists, and creative mavericks who have transformed businesses of more than 300 companies spread across 30 countries worldwide. TO THE NEW Digital is also a strategic partner of many global companies including Google, Amazon Web Services (AWS), YouTube, DataStax and MongoDB.
These companies that I am talking about could be publicly quoted or even be privately held and they would tend to employ more than a hundred people and includes names that you may have heard… Hitachi Data Systems India Pvt. Ltd., IntelliGrape Software Pvt. Ltd., McAfee. Part of Intel Security, OSSCube Solutions, and Tavisca Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Well, Intelligrape is actually the old name for TO THE NEW Digital. What I am also trying to say is that all companies aspire to be great workplaces… and it is both easy as well as a chore to get to that level. Companies need to conduct employee trust surveys, have a continuous culture assessment, opt for cutting edge training programmes, make sure that they are chosen for best company lists, have publications and events not just to benefit the their B2B relationships but also relationships that exist within the company framework and covers internal ethos.
Someone once asked, ‘Why is creating a great workplace so vital?’
Well, let me quote Sudipta K. Sen, CEO & Managing Director, SAS Institute, India: “We are convinced that workplace recognition and revenue growth are not coincidental and is a reflection of our belief that treating employees well is good business and the key to driving the innovation that continues to keep us in a leadership position.”
Well, a building a great workplace is more important than the size of the company… which anyway gets bigger with the right policies, right employees, and the right strategic guidance.
