A few words accelerating
Not deliberately aimed
These words lash out like dogs untamed
And if they hit you, you get maimed
A few words accelerating
Words that we must all tolerate
Protests are always shown the gate
Labelled ‘intolerant’, their fate!
A few words accelerating
Find a home in print, on virtual walls
Exist as eerie, ominous calls
On trembling streets and shrinking halls
A few words accelerating
Soon forget who their father was
Claim they were born on beds of laws
Hide bloody paws, invasive jaws
A few words accelerating
Aren’t looking for dreamy dating
But sometimes rush into my being
Even though I’m careful and seeing
Then like a lump inside my throat
They wait for me to spit them out
It is their way to get their vote
And prove I am another devout
A few accelerating words
Forever these words can silence me
So I need to let them come to me
And change all that they think they be
Then send them as crusading words
To change the minds of mindless herds
We will then never fear these birds:
A few accelerating words!
