‘I am the one who always cooks,
And you just play with words in nooks!’

She went on to say that I must feed
Her a tasty dish and do a culinary deed.

I looked and smiled and then said
I’ll give you ‘French Toast’ brown and red!

And thus started my journey into the kitchen where I prepared six nice golden red pieces of French Toast dripping with yumminess!

Now the truth is that even a French Toast isn’t all that easy to prepare if you’re the sort who love to eat but can’t properly beat even an egg! So I spent a few precious minutes reading lots of recipes on the net and realised that that this is one dish that isn’t very fussy about which bread you’re using. You can use French bread, Italian bread, white bread, whole-wheat bread, brown bread… and well, even purple or violet ones if they exist somewhere, I’m sure.

The ingredients that I used were:

6 thick slices bread
2 eggs
2/3 cup milk
1/4 tsp or teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Salt to taste

STEP 01

Beat to mix, beat to taste
Nice and well, not in haste!

STEP 02

Heat the skillet or some pan
With a little oil or you will fan
Protests that obesity
Will not have pity!

STEP 03

Now dunk the slices six
In the spicy egg mix
Soak well both sides
Until they drip on sides
Then place in pan and cook
Every side, every nook
Then let everyone say: ‘Serve!
And our smile you deserve!’

And thus I ended up waking the potential chef within me and now the kitchen is no longer a place that I visit to just brew my coffee or heat the milk in the microwave. I go there to try out some really experimental dishes.

Yes, you heard me right…

I love dashing my dishes with fancy thoughts
So they no longer fit in regular slots
They jump higher than the tallest ones
But some, I admit, do look like a dunce!
