We’re all hooked to technology
and even the biology
of moments must have bits and bytes
for survival of its ecology.
We’re all hooked to technology!
Technology isn’t just a habit.
It’s a mind-set that, like a rabbit,
hops along with you so much
that with you it will cohabit!
We’re all hooked to technology!
I go out and yet remain inside
my apps. I do love the ride
so much that if I’m the groom
then my device is my bride!
We’re all hooked to technology!
I don’t write on paper with a pen.
All my why, what, and when
happen in the virtual world
in the 3G or wi-fi den!
We’re all hooked to technology!
Yes, this is a wireless world we live in
with all its virtues and every sin.
We have friends a thousand miles away
though we may not remember the name of our kin.
We’re all hooked to technology!
Relationships are layered by jargon
in areas both rural and urban –
A boy would know a girl’s twitter handle
but not if she plays the organ!
We’re all hooked to technology!
And when Mom asks me to go out,
breathe some fresh air, roam about,
I bargain for the latest in tech
and know I’ll win, without doubt!
We’re all hooked to technology!
So what is it that I really need
from technology that is beyond just greed?
Something lighter in weight and heavier
in deeds… I need technology’s newest breed!
We’re all hooked to technology!
My demands are really not impossible…
I need a lightweight device that’s walkable,
a screen that I can touch,
and sound that is audible.
We’re all hooked to technology!
I know now that ASUS gives me a lot
from the features that are in my thought –
A Tab with MS Office and the power to run,
and a keyboard when I want, it has got!
We’re all hooked to technology!

‘What keeps you hooked on to technology even when you’re on the move? Is it playing your favourite games, talking to friends, catching up on some work you love doing? Write a blog post on the things that you think will keep you hooked to a “Transformed” T100 when you’re on the move. The most creative and original posts win exciting prizes.‘

Thanks a lot, Geeta ji… began writing this poem just an hour back and am lucky to have finished seconds before the contest submissions closed.
I’m happy you came along because a poet is always full of doubts about his work… your words will ensure that I have a nice comfortable sleep now. Thank you, again.

Nice to know that you liked the flow… though I wrote this one is a hurry and so was really not bothering to count the syllables in every line (I love my habit to have perfectly syllabic lines). Thanks for reading… come again. 🙂

Sir really after reading your poem and a glance to your work, made me your fan completely, the way you express and the enjoyment you get is clearly reflected and can be felt by the reader too. A novice blogger like me, can learn lot of things out of your creative work. Truly a great personality to be admired. Will be happy if someday get reviewed by you and guided.

Come on, I’m sure the poetry there isn’t perfect. I wish though that it were but it isn’t. But thanks so much for reading and liking it. Hope it inspires you to write better than this one. 🙂

Well, Alka these are two entities poles apart… probably belong to different hemispheres, quite literally. 🙂
Your liking this effort means I must have done or written something really worth a read. Thanks so much. 🙂
Do come again… by the way, what did you think of my article on the UP rapes… ‘Outrage’?

Well, I see that you too have abandoned your natural style and have opted for sketches. The lure of the prize, sketching is trending 😛

My style is my writing… sketches and drawings and pictures are added whenever I have the time and inclination. 🙂
