Don’t look shaken and shocked and mutter, ‘What has happened to this good man? He was never like this. He talks as if we don’t know the good words that start with F. Hmphf!’
You’re wrong. I never asked you to connect F with sentiments that the current government is jogging around in circles to ban. Come on, if words like FUTURE, FUN, FREE, and FAST aren’t good enough for you, you surely are a difficult person to please. When I asked Specky, my wife, the same question, she went a step ahead and said, ‘It isn’t F that you really want to talk about. It is some other alphabet. Right?’
I said, ‘Right. And I just wanted to tell you that it is time to step out of 3G and get into the heart of the future.’
‘Ok. Sounds good so far,’ she said, ‘But I don’t see any fun in spending more… and I’m sure there is nothing free that you get in this world.’
It is difficult to beat Specky in logic because she is mathematics stuffed in a woman’s body… but for once I stood my ground with a victorious… ok, nearly victorious smile. I told her that Airtel had decided to send everyone a free 4G sim and all one had to do was send a request by logging on to their 4G landing page. I then added, ‘Well, the site has a facility to see if your device is 4G compatible or not…’ I then showed her how the Airtel site has done an honest appraisal and told me point-blank that I just might need to replace my mobile with some other that is 4G compatible.
Obviously then, if you’re the sort who is still in the past and struggling with 3G, it is time for you to plan buying a new smartphone. Yes, there are devices that are costing above 20 and 30 thousand… but there are 4G compatible handsets that cost as less as 5999/- or lesser, if you manage a discount sometime, somewhere. So you get smartphones starting from Redmi 2 to the iPhone 6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 and every other phone lies somewhere between. There are the Lenovo, Huawei, ASUS, Micromax, OnePlus, and the Moto models to choose from… and by the way, you do get a list of compatible phones on the Airtel 4G page that I mentioned earlier in the post.
I then faced Specky and said, ‘And if you think the plans are expensive, think again. There are postpaid 4G plans starting from 999 to 2999 per billing cycle and give you a choice of features.’ The trick is always in choosing well and choosing intelligently. We always need to appraise our needs and then decide and not really do what the neighbours are doing… all this is already known to you all. But what you’re unaware of is that the speed of 4G is simply unbeatable… and I guess this short video just might prove what I am saying:
And when life zips and zooms in the fast lane, can fun be far behind? If you think fun is trudging and slogging hard to download one text-only mail, you’re mistaken. Fun is being able to download an entire movie in record time. Fun is being able to browse the net and identify the right restaurant even as you walk in the marketplace with your wife. Fun is being able to open a travel blog and read about all the places worth seeing as you travel to a new city. The days of slow surfing and slow downloads are finally over. The F revolution is here.
Yes, the F revolution is finally here… and the freedom to have fun fast is the new future!
